Nottingham Forest youngster Ben Perry was the man of the moment last night in the 2-0 EFL Trophy victory. The Reds Under-21s ran out winners against Carlisle and can now progress to the knockout stages with a win over Accrington.

Perry operated in centre midfield in Warren Joyce's team and he didn't disappoint. He proved himself against older players with a classy performance and a tidy goal.

Perry did something brilliant last night in Forest U21 win The young Forest player is still trying to find his way in academy football. Last night, however, he was handed the chance to play against seasoned League One footballers.

Carlisle won promotion to the third tier last season. Forest academy starlet Fin Back is currently on loan for a second spell with the club and wasn't involved last night.

He was likely in the stands as he watched some of his old teammates do the business on his loan club. Perry's goal was absolutely class and has been given lots of coverage on social media.

Perry capped off amazing move by Forest youngsters The talented teenager took his goal really well. For a player who has only played twice in the Premier League 2 campaign this season, he looked relatively sharp.

His goal saw him fire an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net following some brilliant work from Josh Powell, Jack Perkins and Ateef Konate.

Perry will now hope to kick on after this performance against professional footballers. He will dream of doing this on a regular basis and if he does, perhaps he can be a senior Forest player one day in the future.
