Chelsea will have been praying when this campaign got underway that their injury woes that hit them so hard last season were a thing of the past.
Even before Enzo Maresca had took charge of his first competitive game though, he had already lost captain Reece James to injury, with him yet to return to action.
It took just one start for Romeo Lavia to join him on the treatment table, although there is more optimism that the Belgian could be back by the time they return to Premier League action.
Chelsea face Bournemouth in their first game back on Saturday, with Maresca no doubt having a hard time figuring out what to do in the right-back position.
As well as James, Malo Gusto hobbled off in their last outing at Stamford Bridge against Crystal Palace, with the hope at the time being that it is not too serious an issue.
Gusto has impressed greatly since his move to the club, being described as 'outstanding' last season.
Maresca now has a number of options to consider in order to fill that void, with Moises Caicedo operating in the role on occasion during his time at Brighton.

Maresca could use Moises Caicedo at right-back Maresca has used Caicedo there sparingly, however would obviously be losing his presence in the middle of the park if he did make that move.
He has the chance to hand Josh Acheampong a first Premier League start, with him being spotted as part of first team training already this season.
The other obvious option is to start Axel Disasi in his more unfamiliar role, although it could be his best chance at minutes for now.
It has been reported Disasi is back of the line when it comes to playing time at centre-back, and is probably one of the players who could be on the chopping block when the transfer window opens again.
