Bournemouth will have the option to buy Luis Sinisterra for a fee in excess of PS20million if Leeds United fail to get promoted, according to Graham Smyth.
Writing via the Yorkshire Evening Post (13 November), Smyth reported that the Cherries' option to buy Leeds loanee Sinisterra will only become active if the Whites fail to make an instant return to the Premier League.
The 24-year-old arrived at Elland Road from Feyenoord for a fee of PS20million in 2022, and the clause means Bournemouth would need to pay in excess of that to make the move permanent.
Should Leeds be promoted back to England's top flight it would leave power in their hands, as they would have the option to negotiate Sinisterra's permanent exit or reintegrate the Colombian back into the team.
Tough call
Should Leeds fail to get promoted, they will have very little say when it comes to the future of the winger. However, if Daniel Farke does guide the Whites back to the Premier League, they will then have a tough decision on their hands.
If Bournemouth and Leeds are to swap places next season, Sinisterra will no doubt be keen on returning to Elland Road, although whether or not he should is a different matter altogether.
Plenty of supporters were not pleased with the way the forward left the club and might not welcome him back. On the other hand, having a player with another year of Premier League experience under his belt could prove useful to Leeds should they find themselves back in the big time.
His cameo against Newcastle United demonstrates he is finally starting to find some form on the south coast and there is no doubt he has talent. If he were to return to the club and start bagging the goals, fans would likely find themselves forgiving him very quickly.
In other Leeds United news, one pundit has been left stunned after a PS40million update.
