Peter Schmeichel has now been discussing what happened shortly after Arsenal's defeat to Porto in the Champions League last night.

Mikel Arteta will surely be very frustrated that his Arsenal side weren't able to see out the game, a draw that would have boosted confidence ahead of the second leg.

The likes of Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli weren't able to have their usual influence, all of whom disappointed.

Although, given how good Arsenal have been of late, there doesn't seem need to panic, fans should trust their side.

And even if Arteta probably shares that optimism amid his disappointment, it seems the team were not in the mood to discuss their display last night.

Speaking on CBS Sports' coverage of the game, Peter Schmeichel said that Arsenal's media staff informed him that their players would not be speaking after the Porto defeat.

Peter Schmeichel wasn't able to speak to the Arsenal players after Porto loss Schmeichel explained that Arteta did come out and speak to the press, even if that conversation was also cut short.

But the pundit did seem surprised that Arsenal had decided to keep their players from questions.

"But I have to say Mikel Arteta has come out and has done the rounds but he was alright.

"I was told to only ask three questions, I wanted to ask a little bit more, but he was kind of alright, he understands this is life in the Champions League away from home."

Of course, as Schmeichel would probably agree, it would be a surprise if Arsenal were protecting their players after such a defeat to Porto.

Although it was a tough one to take, this Arsenal squad have endured a lot worse, and the tie is still far from over.

Either way, it seems Arsenal would prefer their reaction to be on the pitch against Newcastle United on Saturday.

That being said, Thierry Henry has now been discussing the future of an Arsenal linked player.
