Arsenal have signed goalkeeper David Raya permanently following his loan spell at the club last season.

The Gunners confirmed on Thursday that the Spaniard has signed for the club permanently, leaving fellow London side Brentford for a reported fee of PS27 million as part of an option-to-buy clause. < /p>

Raya made more than 40 appearances for Mikel Arteta's side across all competitions last term, and he has now signed a long-term contract with the North London side. < /p>

Now, it appears that the transfer may prompt a boost to Arsenal's transfer budget for this summer's window. < /p>

As reported by The Express, Raya's permanent arrival has made Arteta acutely aware that selling Aaron Ramsdale could be a simple way to raise funds. < /p>

Ramsdale has previously been linked with several Premier League clubs - including Chelsea and Newcastle United - and is valued by his current employers at around PS30-40 million. < /p>
