One attacker who has been linked with a cut-price move to north London this summer has now decided he wants to leave Italy and the Serie A.
After their success in signing Takehiro Tomiyasu from Italian football in 2021, it seems as if Arsenal will attempt to repeat the trick this summer.
Any deal would represent a welcome start to the summer for Edu and his team, who had already signed Kai Havertz by this time last year.
And as well as recruiting a defender, it seems as if Arsenal are also targeting the addition of a new forward, perhaps a new winger who can compete with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
To that end, Arsenal have been linked with a cut-price move for Juventus' Federico Chiesa.
Arsenal target Federico Chiesa wants move abroad because of his big wages To date, 26-year-old Chiesa has spent his whole career in Italy, leaving boyhood club Fiorentina for Juventus in 2022.
However, with just one-year left on his contract at the Italian giants and reportedly with no intention to sign a new deal, Chiesa will be on the move.
Chiesa has been compared to Luis Suarez in the past, who came famously close to joining Arsenal himself, and is now said to prefer a move abroad, which is something of a rarity for Italian players.
At the Euros, only three of Italy's 26-man-squad were playing outside of the Serie A, including Arsenal's Jorginho.
As part of his decision, Chiesa is said to be aware that no other club in Italy could guarantee him the same wages he's currently receiving at Juventus.
Chiesa is said to earn around PS150k-a-week at the club, a wage Arsenal would be able to replicate should they have sufficient interest.
