Club urged to hold onto Gers linked talisman as rivals brace for reported £42m Arsenal boost

Barely 48 hours has gone by in this transfer window without Albion Rrahmani getting mentioned alongside Rangers.

The Kosovan striker, 23, has probably been the most closely referenced option in the Ibrox club's summer striker hunt behind official Rangers signing Hamza Igamane.

But it's not clear just how concrete any Rangers interest in Rrahmani actually is, never mind if the Gers remain in the thick of it with regards the player's signature.

Now, current club Rapid Bucharest have been urged to keep a hold of the 19-goal hitman for another season before cashing in.

But as one club of would-be suitors prepares to see their bank balance bolstered by an ambitious Arsenal side, keeping a hold of the striker may soon get a whole lot harder.

It's fair to say Iancu knows a thing or two about the markets in the Eastern European country and as a follower of all things Rapidistii Capriorii he's been keeping an eye on Rrahmani's situation.

Speaking with Romanian publication Fanatik, Iancu has warned Rapid against selling Albion Rrahmani until at least next summer.

With goals being football's greatest commodity, the businessman has warned the Romanians that they'll need two frontmen to replace Rrahmani's influence.

"If Rrahmani leaves, one or two players at least of Rrahmani's value must come," said Iancu. "If I were the leader, no one would leave, especially Rrahmani.

"I wouldn't make the mistakes with Dugandzic and Moldovan, they ended up weaker than 2 years ago.

"I wouldn't give Rrahamni even in the winter, I would give him next year in the summer. Rrahmani is the goal man, he is one of the few players who are in goal.

"If I had been the manager he would not have left or I would have found two players with notoriety who would be of Rrahmani's value.

"Only then would I think, but in no case would I go after the money. You take the money, it has no way of losing value. Rrahmani wants to maintain his status as a valuable player, he will play at the same intensity."

Rangers transfer rivals set for PS100m+ boost Albion Rrahmani is reportedly a wanted man around Europe this summer.

But of the names mentioned in the hunt for the striker, it's Rangers and now Bologna who've been most linked to a summer Rrahmani swoop.

It comes after the Serie A side banked at least an extra PS30m from Champions League qualification ahead of next season.

It's believed that the Kosovan international is viewed as the perfect replacement for seemingly Manchester United-bound Joshua Zirkzee.

With an additional PS34m set to come into the Italian club from the sale of the Dutchman, there will be cash to spend on a replacement.

And as if to tilt the Albion Rrahmani scales even further in Bologna's favour, according to the Guardian Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a PS42m deal for Rossoblu centre-back Riccardo Calafiori.

We make that an extra PS106m in cash from where the Italians started last season.

Should Bologna's interest in Rrahmani be genuinely concrete, then it's fair to say Rangers will be up against it.
