Report: Barcelona reach agreement to sign 'world class' player Mikel Arteta wants at Arsenal
Source:Football News,

According to a recent report, Arsenal could be set to miss out on a Euro 2024 stat that Mikel Arteta really wanted.

Arteta has had to be patient this summer with the transfer business seemingly on hold until the new financial year but now deals are starting to accelerate.

Riccardo Calafiori is set to to become Arsenal's first signing of the window this week having already agreed upon personal terms - with a five-year deal to be signed in the coming days,

Now, attention will start to turn towards a wide player at Euro 2024 but they face stiff competition from Barcelona.

The 'world class' Spaniard, as quoted by ABC, has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks and is thought to be Arteta's number one target in attack.

Though, Barca are now in pole position to land his highly sought-after signature with personal terms already agreed upon.

Lamine Yamal has been calling for the Catalan club to sign Williams this summer after the pair's starring performances at Euro 2024.

Barca are now working on finalising a payment structure which could leave the door open for Arsenal to hijack a deal.

Arsenal need to act fast There is still time to make a late move for Williams this summer and Barcelona's well-documented financial concerns could give Arsenal the advantage as they'd likely be able to offer a better structure on the deal.

The 2002-born has a PS42m release clause which the LaLiga giants are evidently willing to pay but if The Gunners can structure those payments upfront or over a shorter time period, Bilbao will surely favour a sale to the North Londoners.

Anyhow, sporting director Edu Gaspar needs to act fast.
