After links with Liverpool, Arsenal, Wolves and Newcastle United, one of Europe's hottest strikers has finally announced his next destination.

But it won't be Anfield. It won't be the Emirates either. Or Molineux or St James' Park for that matter.

Instead, a man who ended the 2023/24 campaign with 23 goals and eight assists to his name is looking to follow in the footsteps - and emulate the success of - Kevin de Bruyne, Ivan Perisic, Edin Dzeko, Julian Draxler, Micky van de Ven, Andre Schurrle, Mario Mandzukic and Burnley misfit Wout Weghorst.

If you haven't worked out yet which club connects all these players - from Manchester City's Belgian superstar to Tottenham's jet-heeled centre-half - it's VFL Wolfsburg.

That is the club Mohamed Amoura will be representing next term, The Guardian reporting that a PS14 million deal has been struck to take the former Union Saint-Gilloise talisman to the Bundesliga.

Though, like with De Bruyne, Dzeko and co, Amoura may be only passing through at the Volkswagen Arena. Should he continue in Germany where he left off in Belgium, that Premier League interest will return with a vengeance.

Comments which will not have gone unnoticed by Arsenal, Newcastle or Liverpool either, the top-flight trio also having been mentioned in conjunction with the 20-time Algeria international.

Le Gazzette du Fennec report that he also caught the eye of Brighton and West Ham.

Amoura certainly took his chance to catch Liverpool's eye when he scored one and set up the other during USG's famous 2-1 win over Jurgen Klopp's side in last season's Europa League.

For now, however, the Premier League can wait. Amoura's sights are firmly fixed on making an impression on German soil first.

"I am proud and happy to be able to play for such a big club in Germany," the prolific 24-year-old tells the Wolfsburg website.

"I always had it in my head to take the next steps in my career in the Bundesliga. That's why VfL Wolfsburg is the perfect match for me."

Striker hoping to emulate Kevin de Bruyne impact Die Wolfe sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz, meanwhile, is confident that Amoura will be worth every penny of his PS14 million transfer fee.

A fee that could earn Wolfsburg a sizeable profit later down the line.

"Mohamed has attracted a lot of attention due to his qualities," Schindzielorz admits. "We are delighted that he will be a part of VfL Wolfsburg in the future. He fits our requirements profile perfectly, brings enormous speed and goal threat and can be used flexibly in the attack.

"We are convinced that he will bring a lot of joy to VfL and the Bundesliga as a whole."
