The new Premier League season is edging closer, and preparations will be taken abroad for most clubs from this week. It's that time of the summer where clubs head around the world to expose their brands on the global stage.
But fitness must be earned on the grass, and club chiefs must also earn their pay cheques by executing successful recruitment strategies. With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Premier League.
Merino chaseArsenal are reportedly still in the race to land midfielder Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad. The Euro 2024 winner is said to be available for around PS20million to PS25million due to his contract having just one year remaining.
According to Sport, Barcelona are keen on a deal for Merino after he reportedly rejected Atletico Madrid due to concerns over club's hierarchy. Arsenal are still said to be interested, while Barca are also pushing to wrap up a deal.
Sancho exit on the cardsManchester United are reportedly in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a possible deal for Jadon Sancho. Sancho is expected to leave Old Trafford permanently this summer after he spent the second half of last season on loan with Borussia Dortmund following a bust-up with Erik ten Hag.
According to Foot Mercato, talks are ongoing over a possible deal with PSG looking to replace Kylian Mbappe in some form this summer. The report comes despite Ten Hag recently saying: "We had a good talk. Everyone can make mistakes. We've moved on. This club needs good players and one thing is for sure: Jadon is a very good player. It's good to have Jadon back." He added: "As we said, we've drawn the line."Manchester United needs good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on." Sancho said on his future in May: "I really don't know. I'm focused on the present right now."
Summerville latestLeeds United are said to hold the upper-hand in any negotiations over key star Crysencio Summerville. There have been reports that West Ham have submitted a bid, but there is also reported interest from a number of clubs this summer.
The Yorkshire Evening Post's Graham Smyth has said: "Only a matter of time before someone tests Leeds United's resolve on Crysencio Summerville. Fabrizio Romano reports West Ham United are keen to do that, Leeds saying nothing on that but insist they don't need to sell so could dictate terms."
Leeds boss Daniel Farke has previously said of Summerville: "His performances and end product, but also his willingness to work for the team, have been outstanding. To deliver in this league you have to be on it more or less each and every day on the training pitch, and that is what he's doing.
"It is no coincidence that he has provided so many decisive goals and assists. We don't have to speak about his potential, because for Cry the sky is the limit. But to show consistency, that is quite crucial."
