Report: Arsenal are ready to use 'phenomenal' player in a swap deal to sign £70m man
Source:Football News,

Riccardo Calafiori looks set to become Arsenal's first major signing of the summer.

The Italian is said to be close to joining Arsenal, and a deal is expected to go through in the coming days.

However, Arsenal's work in terms of reinforcing the defence isn't quite finished there.

Indeed, according to The Daily Star, Arsenal retain an interest in Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi.

Arsenal were apparently interested in Guehi before Calafiori, but his PS70m pricetag put Mikel Arteta off.

However, Arsenal may now have found a way around paying such a huge fee for Guehi.

The 'phenomenal' Arsenal striker has long been linked with a move to Selhurst Park, and it looks as though he could get a move this summer.

Jean-Philippe Mateta hit red hot form for Palace last season, netting 16 Premier League goals, but there's still a feeling that the Eagles could do with some more firepower next season.

Marc Guehi swap deal should include another Arsenal player There may well be a deal to be done here with Guehi and Arsenal, but the player involved in the swap deal perhaps shouldn't be Eddie Nketiah.

Indeed, after losing Michael Olise, Palace have greater need for reinforcements in their advanced midfield positions, and they have shown interest in Emile Smith Rowe.

Smith Rowe is said to be someone Palace are very keen on, and perhaps Arsenal could get this Guehi deal over the line if they offered Smith Rowe up instead of, or as well as, Nketiah.

Swap deals are becoming more and more common in football these days due to Profit and Sustainability rules, and we may see Crystal Palace and Arsenal come to some sort of an agreement here.
