Report: Arsenal could now offer £30m player in bid to sign £70m Crystal Palace star

Crystal Palace could receive a player plus cash offer for Marc Guehi this summer from Arsenal, according to reports.

This summer has already seen multiple huge deals made by Crystal Palace, both incoming and outgoing, but there's no chance that the work is done.

More defenders and attackers are currently being sought after by the Eagles in order to complete the squad for the upcoming season.

Oliver Glasner will be encouraged by the work done so far but will be keen to see more work done. Now the latest reports surrounding Marc Guehi suggest he could get a new No.9 in return for the defender's exit.

Here's the latest regarding Guehi's possible exit from Selhurst Park.

Guehi is one of the most discussed potential exits but with a price tag of PS70m now set, Liverpool has dropped their interest, while it's also a fee unlikely to please other suitors.

Now, it has been suggested that in order to get around Palace's asking price, Arsenal could instead offer a player-plus-cash deal.

This comes according to a report from Daily Star which writes that the Gunners could offer up long-term Eagles target Eddie Nketiah in exchange this summer.

Valued at PS30m, it would take a chunk off the asking price for Guehi. Although it'll be a tough deal to do considering Marseille has an interest in signing the striker.

Marseille's deal to sign Nketiah also seems to hinge on Palace with the Ismaila Sarr deal being discussed. Chances are Palace will now move to sign Sarr with personal terms agreed, which would likely take Nketiah off the table.

Do Crystal Palace need Eddie Nketiah? While on paper it looks an excellent deal, the move would see Palace receive substantially less money than a straight sale.

In return, the club would see a new striker arrive, but is this a deal worth contemplating for the Eagles?

Nketiah is a good forward, however if he were to arrive at Palace this summer, we doubt he'd be starting ahead of Jean-Philippe Mateta, with the Frenchman earning the trust of Glasner.

Ideally, the Eagles would rather straight cash as it allows Dougie Freedman a lot of manouevering room to bring in replacements and strengthen the entire squad.
