Arsenal have a top transfer target in mind for this summer window.

Indeed, the player the Gunners are apparently most keen on signing is Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, signing Williams isn't going to be a straightforward process.

Williams is said to be a player Barcelona are also very keen on, and according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on The Debrief, Barcelona are ready to spend all of their budget to sign the winger.

"I can guarantee that Barcelona's efforts are entirely on Nico Williams. At least this week, next week we could see," Romano said.

"Despite the appreciation of Merino, Joao Cancelo, many options, they want to use all their budget and all of their resources on Nico Williams. This week the mission is to reach the agreement on personal terms with Nico Williams and to have the greenlight of the player."

Barcelona are a huge club in a country where Williams is settled, and, by the sounds of it, they're set to offer the attacker a massive sum of money to get this deal done.

Barcelona may have their financial issues, but as deals for the likes of Robert Lewandowski in recent years have shown, they still have a huge amount of sway in the transfer market.

Unfortunately, Arsenal's chances of signing Williams this summer appear to be slim to none, and, by the sounds of things, a move to Barcelona is imminent.

One thing is for sure, Williams is more than worthy of a move to a top European club, be that Barcelona or Arsenal.
