Image: Arsenal Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ayden Heaven and Josh Nichols all featured as substitutes as the Arsenal first-team won 4-1 against Bayer Leverkusen at Emirates Stadium.

Lewis-Skelly came on at the start of the second half and was once again deployed at left-back.

The 17-year-old showcased his composure in possession and had some impressive moments, although there were one or two occasions when he was caught out, which suggests it would be better to use him in midfield.

Nwaneri, who entered the fray in the 63rd minute, again played with much confidence as he demonstrated his excellent technical ability.

He combined well with senior players as usual.

Nichols and Heaven both came on in the 71st minute for their first senior appearances at Emirates Stadium.

Right-back Nichols combined well with Bukayo Saka, while Heaven played good passes but had some difficult moments.

Goalkeeper Tommy Setford was an unused substitute.

The youngsters will hope to be involved again when Arsenal play Lyon on Sunday in the Emirates Cup - their final fixture of pre-season.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz all scored for Arsenal.

Adam Hlozek netted a late consolation for Bayer Leverkusen which was assisted by Hale End product Nathan Tella.
