Manchester United have been snapping up talented young players and now want to bring another one to Old Trafford in 2025.

The main focus for Ineos over the summer was to bring in major first-team recruits for Erik ten Hag's Manchester United squad.

United pulled off deals for Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte in a strong window.

Ineos are also looking to bring in talented young players for the future and have pulled off some exciting deals.

United have confirmed the signing of four youngsters with Sekou Kone, Chido Obi-Martin, Samuel Lusale and James Overy all arriving.

Malian talent Kone is highly regarded whilst Obi-Martin was a goal machine in the Arsenal ranks.

United will hope to develop those young talents for the future in the hope of having some serious talent on show in the years to come.

The January transfer window is barely even in sight but United are already being linked with a potential signing in 2025.

MORE UNITED STORIES

The Daily Record claim that United have joined the race to sign Ayr United talent Dylan Watret.

It's stated that United had scouts in attendance to watch Watret in action for Ayr United against Partick Thistle on Saturday.

Watret won the Man of the Match award in a 1-1 draw, no doubt leaving United impressed in the process.

The report claims that Arsenal and Nottingham Forest have also shown an interest in Watret whilst Fulham have previously taken him on trial.

Who is Manchester United target Dylan Watret? Watret hails from Bellfield in Scotland and has come up through the Ayr United ranks but has previously enjoyed a loan spell at East Stirlingshire - the club where Sir Alex Ferguson cut his teeth as a manager.

The 17-year-old predominantly plays as as right back but has also operated on the left side of defence.

Watret has now played 11 times for Ayr United at senior level, recording one goal and two assists in the process.

Ayr United boss Scott Brown - pictured above - has told the Daily Record that he thinks Watret is 'quick and powerful' whilst offering quality in the final third.

Brown praised Watret's reading of the game too and is giving him chances to shine in the first team.

"Wee Dylan was the best player on the park on Saturday and his goal pretty much summed up his performance," said Brown.

"He anticipated the ball well, he's always on the front foot and is quick and powerful. He's got good quality the further up the pitch he goes and it was a great finish that brought us back into the game," he added.

United now appear to be interested and may well need to make a move in January in order to fend off the competition - such as Arsenal.
