Alexander Isak has continued to excel since moving to Newcastle and compatriot Freddie Ljungberg wants to see him make the move - citing Arsenal as a destination

The forward moved to the Premier League two years ago as Newcastle spent big to lure him from Real Sociedad. He's continued to impress, earning individual plaudits as he spearheads the Magpies' ascent under their new owners.

Back in the summer they had to warn off potential bidders who were circling around Isak. Newcastle could already opt to cash in and make a huge profit on the 25-year-old, who has scored 36 times across his two years in England's top flight.

Ljungberg believes Isak is destined for the top, hailing several of his attributes, but hopes he eventually goes to one of England's top clubs where he believes he can become even more prolific.

"His top qualities are so extremely special that I think he can be even better. He could go all the way up to the absolute top because of his speed, fine finishing and understanding of the game. This is a player for whom I want things to go so incredibly well. He seems so humble and down to earth, and it feels like he just wants to work hard and play football.I really hope he can take the next step."

Ljungberg went on to add: "Newcastle is a good club. There is nothing wrong with that. But at some point I hope he goes to Arsenal, Chelsea or City where he can pour in goals. That's what I hope."

"I love everything about the club; the fans, and the city," he said. "It (my future) is not something I will speculate about, I have no thoughts on leaving. There has been no talk about it at the club and I have received no information that the could would have to sell me."
