Global pizza giant Dominos has hilariously trolled Arsenal after the Premier League giants suffered a shock 2-0 loss to Bournemouth.

Mikel Arteta's team finished runner-up in the last two years and could have leapfrogged leader Liverpool and defending champion Manchester City in second place with a win at Bournemouth.

But Arsenal's chances were hit after William Saliba was sent off in the first half at Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth took full advantage. Ryan Christie scored in the 70th minute before Justin Kluivert converted a penalty nine minutes later.

"It's hard enough to play here 11 against 11, we made life very difficult for ourselves again," Arteta said. Arsenal's third red card of the season, he added, was "an accident waiting to happen."

Third-placed Arsenal is a point behind Liverpool and level with City, having played a game more than its rivals, who are both in action overnight on Sunday (AEDT).

Arsenal's last major trophy was an FA Cup victory in 2020. They haven't won the Premier League since the 2003-2004 season.

Dominos UK took to X to mock the loss, sharing a photo of an empty box, which it called the 'Arsenal title hopes pizza'.

Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou's Spurs suffered yet another slow start in their clash with West Ham, before a three-goal blitz in the second half sealed a 4-1 London derby demolition.

Mohammed Kudus' 18th-minute goal at Spurs Stadium shushed the home fans, before Dejab Kulusevski leveled in the 36th minute.

After returning from the break - and possibly a dressing room spray from their Aussie coach - Yves Bissouma struck in the 52nd before Alphonse Areola scored an own goal three minutes later.

Son Heung-min added a fourth on the hour mark to all but ice the match.

West Ham was reduced to 10 men in the 86th when Kudus was sent off for pushing Micky van de Ven in an angry confrontation.

"We had to fight hard in the first half. Going a goal down wasn't ideal but we clawed our way back into it, and it is not easy. West Ham are a big physical side and they have got some speed as well," Postecoglou told the BBC.

"Second half we were outstanding. We upped the tempo and played some quality football, defended when we needed to and got our finishing right.

"I think we had some chances where we could have scored more but if we keep creating the goals will come. We want to be that sort of side that creates lots of chances."

Elsewhere, Manchester United picked up only its third league win by beating Brentford 2-1.

Fourth-placed Aston Villa tightened up the top of the standings by moving to within a point of Liverpool and level with Arsenal after beating Fulham 3-1. Brighton was three points off the pace after winning at Newcastle 1-0.
