Sweden manager Janne Andersson has confirmed that Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen has missed training with his international team as he recovers from injury.

The 33-year-old has joined up with his national team after being an unused substitute for Villa's 1-1 draw with Wolves over the weekend. The goalkeeper has made one Premier League appearance so far this season, filling in for the injured Emi Martinez in the 3-1 away win against Burnley back in August.

Despite his inclusion in every matchday squad for Villa this season, Andersson appears to hint that Olsen has suffered an injury, although it doesn't seem to be serious. As Olsen continues his recovery, Sweden has called up Jacob Widell Zetterstrom to fill in.

"We took Jacob in. Robin Olsen is rehabbing today and tomorrow," Andersson said, via Aftonbladet "That's why Jacob joins and trains with us.

"As for Robin, there are wide margins. I'm not worried about Monday but he should take it easy these first few days."

Sweden are in action on Thursday when they take on Moldova in an international friendly. They are then in Euro qualifying action the following Monday when they travel to take on Belgium in the Group F fixture.

Sweden are currently in third place in the group, and are seven points behind Belgium and Austria. Andersson has suffered a big injury blow before the match against Belgium with Newcastle striker Alexander Isak withdrawing from the squad due to injury.

The last international break saw Sweden come out as 5-0 winners over Estonia, before falling to a 3-1 home defeat vs Austria. Olsen started both of those games, with the national side hoping that he'll be available for the clash against Belgium.
