Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins faces a risk of re-injury after his hamstring setback, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that he will continue to be monitored behind the scenes to avoid any relapse.

The England attacker missed the Manchester City clash earlier in April but has fought it off since to lead the line for Unai Emery's side.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

"Hard to say if he's 100% because no player is 100% this late in the season but the fact he was able to play roughly a week later and play well is a very good sign.

"The physios and coaches will be continuing to monitor him in training to make sure there aren't signs of injury relapse.

"There does remain a small risk of re-injury but he's now got in multiple games and does not appear to be showing any frailties."
