We begin Tuesday's Premier League transfer rumour roundup with an update on the future of former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham. The Englishman is widely expected to leave current club AS Roma this summer as they seek to free up space on their wage bill.

And according to Il Romanista, Aston Villa are already in 'pole position' to sign the 26-year-old. Abraham is said to be keen on a return to the Premier League, and is on the radar of several clubs, including Leicester City. Roma are expected to demand around PS25 million for their asset, who is under contract until 2026.

The 3AM Verdict: Abraham is a quality striker, and one who Villa know well from his previous loan stint at the club. The prospect of him returning to Villa Park is an enticing one, although it should be pointed out that he has also been heavily linked with AC Milan in recent days. Certainly a transfer tussle with plenty of gas left in the tank.

Toon to consider Longstaff bidsElsewhere, Newcastle United would reportedly consider offers for homegrown midfielder Sean Longstaff this summer. According to Football Insider, the Magpies would listen to bids in the region of PS20 million for the 26-year-old as they look to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Because he is an academy product, Longstaff's exit would bring with it pure profit in the eyes of financial regulators. The current transfer window is also regarded as the ideal time to sell because the midfielder's current deal at St. James' Park expires in 2025, meaning that the Magpies risk losing him on a free transfer next year.

The 3AM Verdict: While Longstaff has been a regular contributor under Eddie Howe, the prospect of selling him will understandably be a tempting one for the Magpies given outside pressures and his academy status. Compared to other members of their squad, you could certainly argue that Longstaff is more dispensable, and for that reason, a sale cannot be ruled out if the right bid comes along.

David in demandAnd finally, Canada international striker Jonathan David is understood to be attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs this summer. According to renowned journalist Ben Jacobs, the LOSC Lille forward could be on the move for around PS25.4 million, with several English sides monitoring his situation.

Writing on social media, Jacobs said: 'Chelsea, Spurs, Manchester United, and West Ham all considering a move for Lille striker Jonathan David, who is expected to be available for PS21.2m-25.4m. Spurs have had David on their radar for a year. Chelsea discussed David during Graham Potter's spell in charge.'

The 3AM Verdict: David is a regular name in the gossip columns, and one who could offer plenty to the right club. At around PS25 million, he would represent something of a steal compared to several other available strikers this summer, but it remains to be seen if any Premier League side is interested enough to firm up their speculative interest into something more.
