'Agreed on terms': Fabrizio Romano claims 'exceptional' Aston Villa player is now set to leave
Source:Football News,

Aston Villa have been particularly busy on the transfer front over the past few weeks as Unai Emery seeks to strengthen his squad.

The Villans have been spinning a number of plates lately, with deals recently completed for defender Ian Maatsen and forward Lewis Dobbin.

Meanwhile, the deal involving Douglas Luiz, Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barranachea is seemingly close to completion, and Tim Iroegbunam has gone to Everton.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa are close to parting company with a player who is surplus to requirements at B6.

The 32-year-old is not part of Emery's plans and spent last season on loan with Qatari side Al-Duhail.

Although Coutinho registered seven goals and three assists in 22 games in Qatar, this has not convinced Emery to retain him for next season.

Now, Romano has taken to X to report that Coutinho has agreed on terms to return to Brazilian outfit Vasco da Gama.

The contract is almost ready, and the only thing that needs to happen now is for Villa to terminate the player's contract.

"Villa are prepared to give Coutinho the green light to leave soon," concluded Romano.
