Jacob Ramsey has been linked away from Aston Villa

Dan Bardell has likened Jacob Ramsey to Jamal Musiala after Tottenham submitted a bid to buy him from Aston Villa this summer.

A report from The Times (27 June) has outlined an offer from Spurs which involved PS20 million plus Giovani Lo Celso for the 23-year-old.

It has been suggested that the Villans have already rejected this deal with them wanting "between PS40m and PS50m" for his signature.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell shared that the word he is getting is that offers will not be welcomed and they aren't looking to sell.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: "The word on that is that Villa won't entertain offers for Ramsey and aren't looking to sell him.

"There is a danger that people are forgetting just how good Jacob Ramsey is because we didn't see the real version of him last year because of injuries.

"Looking at the EUROs someone like Jamal Musiala has caught the eye, I'm not saying Ramsey is as good as him but there are similar traits to their game which makes me excited to see him next season.

"He's also a local boy and a Villa fan so is going to want to play for Villa in the Champions League. I don't think he'd want to go or Villa would want to sell because when he is on top of his game he is brilliant.

"I do like Giovani Lo Celso but PS20m plus him for Ramsey, Villa aren't going to go with that."
