Wolves boosted as West Ham submit £29.7m offer for Aston Villa target

West Ham United have reportedly seen an initial offer rejected for OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The Hammers appear to have shifted their attention away from Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Maximilian Kilman, instead prioritising Todibo, an Aston Villa and Newcastle United target.

French publication L'Equipe reports West Ham have had a bid of EUR35 million (PS29.7 million) rejected for Todibo but Nice are preparing for his departure and are likely to accept a higher proposal. Julen Lopetegui's side previously saw a PS25 million offer rejected by Wolves for Kilman.

"I want to win titles and play in the best European competitions," Todibo told Get French Football News just a few weeks ago. "Those are my objectives. I'd also like to go to a club that will allow me to become better, to allow me to progress on an individual level. That's what interests me," he said.

Born in Cayenne but two times a senior France internatonal, Todibo is eager to challenge himself in several different divisions across Europe. With his representatives in touch with a host of clubs, the player has also decided to make a hint directly to potential Premier League suitors.
