Aston Villa are the latest Premier League side to be linked with a move for Turkey star Baris Alper Yilmaz.

Liverpool, Arsenal, and Borussia Dortmund have previously been named as suitors for the Galatasaray winger, who has caught the eye after an excellent run of form in 2024. Now, according to Sabah in Turkey, Villa are preparing to make an offer for the 24-year-old.

It's not said how much Villa are willing to pay, but it seems it will take a decent fee to prise Yilmaz out of Galatasaray. The latest reported asking price is EUR35m (PS30m), a figure that keeps rising as more clubs are linked.

Despite joining the club in 2021, Yilmaz has only really established as a regular starter and key player for Galatasaray in this calendar year. From July to December last year, he registered no goals and three assists in 29 games. Since the turn of the year, when he's started more games, he's got seven goals and nine assists in 26 outings.

That form saw him establish himself as a regular in the Turkey line-up too. At Euro 2024, Yilmaz played 90 minutes in all five of his nation's matches as they made it to the quarter-finals.

Aside from his excellent form, what may be attracting clubs to Yilmaz is his versatility. He can play on both flanks as a winger, while also operated as a centre-forward, and even as a right-back and left-back during the campaign for Galatasaray.
