In a recent interview with Give Me Sport, journalist Ben Jacobs mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Aston Villa playmaker Jacob Ramsey. Jacobs said,

"Tottenham are still exploring whether Ramsey might be possible, but Villa don't want to lose him, so they're either going to have to pay big money for him, with or without Lo Celso, or they're going to have to move on.

"And it may be that there are other players that they have a stronger chance of successfully getting, including Wolves' Pedro Neto, Leipzig's Lois Openda, and in a slightly different position, Lille's Jonathan David."

Ramsey's Impressive Season At Villa Park Ramsey missed a lot of games last season due to injuries. However, he still managed to put in a few eye-catching displays for the Villans in the Premier League. The 23-year-old scored one goal and grabbed a couple of assists in 21 appearances for the West Midlands club in the previous campaign across all fronts.

The English talent proved his worth at times in the final third by averaging 1.2 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per game in Premier League football. He was even excellent when distributing the ball in the opponent's half based on his pass completion rate of 81.9% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

The Birmingham-born talent is a tidy passer of the ball as well. He has already got some valuable experience in the Premier League under his belt and won't take much time to settle into life at Tottenham.

We can expect Ramsey to inject more energy and dynamism into Angelos Postecoglu's frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the North London club next season.

At 23, Ramsey has his best years ahead of him which makes him a good choice for Spurs to pursue in the long run. Thus, Postecoglu should focus on going for him this summer.
