Ty Bracey believes that Amadou Onana will add physicality to the Aston Villa midfield after signing from Everton.

The Villans confirmed the signing of the Belgium international on 22 July in a deal worth a reported PS50 million [BBC Sport].

This transfer has been mooted as a replacement option for Douglas Luiz as the 26-year-old joined Juventus earlier in the window.

Villa podcaster Bracey has suggested that Onana will add physicality to the midfield which has been missed under Unai Emery.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: "I think he's going to be solid in the middle of the pitch.

"He's going to become really important for us and I think he'll prove to be a difference-maker in the squad.

"We've needed somebody more physical in the midfield for a while so he comes with all the right attributes that Villa have lacked for the last few seasons.

"I'm excited to see Onana play for Villa and watch him grow."

The feeling around the club has certainly received a boost with Onana coming through the doors at Villa Park in an expensive deal.

At 22-years-old, the former Everton star certainly has a high ceiling and Emery is a manager who consistently gets the best out of his squad.

Without Boubacar Kamara, the Villans are missing that midfield destroyer and alongside someone like Youri Tielemans and Ross Barkley, Onana could be that man.

The Belgian featured in the EUROs for his country alongside Kevin de Bruyne which is likely to be a similar tactical setup to that at Villa next season.
