Aston Villa comfortably returned to winning ways with a stunning 3-1 victory over Fulham at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday (12 November).

The Villans recorded their 13th straight win at Villa Park after goals from an Antonee Robinson own goal, John McGinn and Ollie Watkins ensured Unai Emery's men moved back into fifth place in the Premier League table.

Fulham grabbed a consolation goal from Raul Jimenez grabbing his first league goal since March 2022 and Marco Silva's men rallied for a late onslaught but failed to make the most of their final third openings in yet another defeat.

Here is how Villa News rated the performance of each Aston Villa player during the game, with the help of SofaScore stats...

Emi Martinez - 7/10

Could do absolutely nothing as his hugely coveted clean sheet was unfortunately dragged away from him through Jimenez's second-half goal but when called upon the Argentinian stood up to the task with three crucial saves, and completed 100% of his run-outs.

Matty Cash - 6/10

There's a reason why Cash constantly gets picked even when not at his best and that's because when he flows forward he is a joy to watch, registering an impressive two shots on target and should really have scored with one of them, recorded a 94% pass accuracy, and completed 100% of his long balls.

Ezri Konsa - 7/10

Why Ezri Konsa hasn't got a look in for England is absolutely baffling because yet again, he was at his solid best this afternoon as his partnership with Pau Torres just gets stronger and stronger. Successfully completed 93% of his passes, won three of his five ground duels, and completed 100% of his long balls.

Pau Torres - 7/10

With every passing game, Aston Villa fans realise why Unai Emery was hell-bent on working with him again. So calm, assured and progressive in possession, completing 90% of his passes, even recorded one key pass, completed six long balls and won three of his ground duels.

Lucas Digne - 6/10

Was largely quiet in the attacking third but certainly made a telling contribution in his defending, winning four of his seven total duels, and wasn't dribbled past all game whilst recording one key pass.

John McGinn - 10/10

What a player and arguably one of the best and most industrious central midfielders in the country, let alone in the Premier League. Took his goal brilliantly as Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno had no chance.

Won a whopping 15 of his 20 ground duels, completed seven of his eight dribbles, and completed three of his long balls in an action-packed and stunning individual showing from the Scotsman. Wow. Outstanding.

Boubacar Kamara - 6/10

The Frenchman, as the stats show, was surprisingly poor despite the win as Villa looked largely comfortable in midfield for much of the game. Failed to win a single tackle or a ground duel in his 90 minutes on the pitch.

Douglas Luiz - 7/10

Incredibly calm and assured in midfield one again as the Brazilian showed just why he is highly-regarded and loved at Villa Park. Won 80% of his ground duels, 100% of his aerial duels, successfully completed 80% of his passes, 100% of his dribbles and registered one key pass. Would have loved to have gotten on the scoresheet too.

Youri Tielemans - 7/10

Was superb in the first half and heavily contributed to everything good about the Villans both in defence and in attack but largely faded in the second half.

However, will be encouraged by Emery's decision to start him recently but he must carry that forward now. Won three ground duels, 100% of his aerial duels, registered one key pass and one big chance created.

Moussa Diaby - 5/10

Correctly taken off in the 62nd minute and Emery's decision to replace with Leon Bailey proved an absolute masterstroke with the Jamaican international instantly providing an assist for Watkins.

However, it was another struggling performance for the Frenchman, winning 25% of his total duels, barely touching the ball with 19 touches and successfully completing just eight passes all game. Not at his best.

Ollie Watkins - 7/10

Scored one and should really have bagged another as he surprisingly missed an absolute sitter after some good work from McGinn late on. Will be incredibly disappointed by that.

Leon Bailey (on for Diaby 62) - 7/10

In other Aston Villa news, a senior man may have quit before he was pushed out of Villa Park by Monchi.
