Former Republic of Ireland international, Clinton Morrison has praised John McGinn for his performance as Aston Villa dispatched Fulham, 3-1.

For the thirteenth time in a row, Aston Villa have won at home. This time they secured a measured 3-1 win over Fulham.

Following the loss to Nottingham Forest, Unai Emery was desperate to right those wrongs and get back to winning ways.

It is safe to say that he can be pleased with the overall performance and yet another Villa Park win.

Thanks to goals from John McGinn, Ollie Watkins and an Antonee Robinson own goal Villa wrapped up all three points.

What has Clinton Morrison said about John McGinn? The ex-Crystal Palace man was covering the Villains game vs the Cottagers on Sky Sports and was full of praise for the skipper.

Discussing his performance, Morrison said: "McGinn has been the best player on the pitch.

"He has been outstanding in the middle of the park. He's absolutely run the show."

MORE VILLA STORIES

The Scotsman was on top of his game all day and was just too much for the Fulham team to deal with all over.

Villa's captain was more than deserving of all the praise sent his way post-full-time and during the game.

He had just 54 touches but was immense. He completed seven dribbles, six progressive passes and was fouled seven times.

Joao Palinha is famed as one of the best number sixes in the whole Premier League but could get nowhere near McGinn.

His goal was richly deserved and may feel unlucky to have not got an assist at any point throughout.

Villa bounced back after last week's poor performance and the skipper was back to his best with a trademark, blockbuster performance.
