Match of the Day pundits Ian Wright and Alan Shearer have hailed "formidable" Aston Villa after they swept past Fulham 3-1 on Sunday.

Unai Emery's side have now won a staggering 13 consecutive matches at Villa Park in the Premier League. Victory in their next home league game against Manchester City on December 6 would equal a club record 14-game winning run set across the 1930-31 and 1931-32 seasons.

And Wright and Shearer were gushing in their praise of Emery's men. Wright in particular pointed out the physical advantage Villa now have when they come up against teams.

"They look very, very formidable," he told Match of the Day. "It's no surprise their record is what it is. They look fit, sharp and really good.

"It must be quite exciting as well, because he's got some good players. You've got someone like Ollie Watkins who's a willing runner.

"Diaby's looking good in there, Kamara is good in there. Even Douglas Luiz, brilliant in there, so he's got so many players in and around and they all they look fit and strong."

Shearer added: "They're quick on the turnover as well so they've got the pace to hurt you."
