Source:Astonvillanews

Aston Villa may well have received an early boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Tottenham with Jacob Ramsey nearing a return to the matchday squad.

According to Birmingham Live sharing on Monday afternoon (13 November), Ramsey could make his first-team comeback for the Villans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 26 November.

The Villa Park wonder hasn't featured since their rampant 6-1 win over Brighton on 30 September after being given a 33-minute cameo by Emery, scoring his first of the campaign.

Last season, the Englishman played 35 of the 38 Premier League games which shows just how important he was for Emery in their rapid progression under the Spaniard.

Ramsey had proven an almighty part of that because of his tenacious energy and aggression when attempting to win the ball back, evidenced by his 0.7 interceptions, 2.0 tackles, 0.5 possessions won per game, and winning 51% of his ground duels last season [SofaScore].

According to the Opta-powered stats on FBREF last season, Ramsey looked to be one of the most-rounded midfielders in the Premier League, sitting in the top 20% of his counterparts for goals (0.21 per 90) and assists (0.18 per 90).

He also impressively sits in the 96th percentile for non-penalty goals per90, 94th percentile for assists per90, 94th for touches in the attacking penalty area per 90 and 96th percentile for progressive carries per 90 highlighting his sensational influence and decisiveness amongst his peers in Europe's top five leagues.

The 22-year-old was rightly awarded the 2022/23 Premier League Academy Graduate of the Year award (22 May), following in the footsteps of the likes of Bukayo Saka, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Marcus Rashford, showcasing why he is the cream of a very exciting crop of Premier League talent that has emerged on the scene this season.

Villa have certainly undergone a stunning upward trajectory without arguably their most prized asset at Villa Park, currently sitting just three points away from the top of the Premier League tree, in fifth with 25 points from a possible 36.

However, that doesn't mean Ramsey cannot come into the team and make them a more complete and potent unit moving forward. He's already bagged a goal already this campaign, scoring in the 6-1 win over Brighton and is certainly gearing up for more.

After his stunning Premier League exploits last season, recording six goals and seven assists, Ramsey is now a fully-blown English top-flight star, one which Emery is surely incredibly fortunate to possess right now.

Should the Villans require his services against Tottenham after the international break, Emery certainly won't bat an eyelid bringing him on to claim another three massive points for Aston Villa. He's that decisive and this development comes as a welcome boost to everyone at Bodymoor Heath.

In other Aston Villa news, a senior man may have quit before he was pushed out of Villa Park by Monchi.
