Barnsley boss makes claim over Derby County results

Barnsley boss Neill Collins feels some of Derby County's results have not reflected their performances this season and admits they are blessed with "fantastic" players.

The two clubs go head to head at Pride Park on Saturday (3pm) as the Rams aim to climb into the top six in what looks to be the game of the day in League One. Derby go into the game on the back of a 4-1 win over Wolves in the EFL Trophy on a night when a large swathe of the first-team were given the night off.

Head coach Paul Warne will name a much more familiar line-up for the visit of the Tykes as they seek to end the inconsistency that has undermined their season so far. And while there has been plenty of frustration over Derby's start to the campaign, despite them sitting seventh in the table, Collins feels Derby have not been rewarded as they should have been in some games.

"Some of their results don't reflect some of their performances," he said. "They've got some fantastic players, playing a real attacking style of football, creating chances. Paul Warne's obviously been across it before, a couple of promotions out of League One. So he knows what it takes. If you finish ahead of Derby, you'll be in a good position."

Barnsley have no fresh injuries to contend with ahead of the game at the weekend but they will be missing midfielder Herbie Kane. The former Liverpool youngster has collected five bookings and will be out of the game at Pride Park at the weekend.
