Canaries have 'more than enough' to turn form around - ex-City striker

Norwich City have the quality within their ranks to turn their poor form around, according to former Canary Simeon Jackson.

The Norfolk side have lost seven of their last nine games, tumbling to 17th in the Championship after a positive start to the season.

The 36-year-old believes they have enough to get their promotion push back on track, however, citing the strong squad Stuart Webber's assembled at Carrow Road.

"It's a weird one," he told The Pink Un. "There's no hiding away from recent form, they're not getting the results. There have been some close ones, but just at certain moments things are going against them.

"But it's one of those where you can't get in the rut of not getting a win. We were always told when things weren't going great that you can get in the habit of being a nearly team, and that doesn't put you at the right end of the table.

"You look at the squad, and on paper they've got more than enough to start turning it around, and start getting some wins.

"So they just have to keep working on it, and hopefully get a bit of luck as well to get that result. Then hopefully that momentum will start to fester, and they can get back to winning ways."

Jackson was part of a promoted side built on young and hungry players in 2012. Having players on the same trajectory he was in NR1 isn't the only way of getting promoted, however, according to the Chelmsford City under-18s boss.

"You don't have to have players who are just on the way up," he continued. "We've seen that with different teams that have been promoted at Norwich.

"It's the right balance of having experience and players that fit certain styles and fit the philosophy. Any manager who comes in needs time to get things how they want it, and get teams to adjust.

"It's just part of football, it's part of every season, every journey with every squad. It's just about turning up with performances, and then turning performances into wins."
