Manchester United have been handed another injury concern ahead of their trip to face Sheffield United in the Premier League this weekend.

Erik ten Hag's side has already been ravaged by a number of injuries this season and could also be without the services of Casemiro for their trip to Bramall Lane this weekend.

The 31-year-old suffered an ankle injury during the first-half of Brazil's 1-1 draw with Venezuela last Friday and asked to be substituted in the final stages of the match.

Casemiro started in central midfield at the Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba for the first of Brazil's two 2026 World Cup qualifiers but was taken off as one of three changes on 79 minutes when Brazil were 1-0 up, before a late Eduard Bello goal levelled the scoreline.

Speaking after the draw, Brazil head coach Fernando Diniz confirmed the United midfielder suffered a 'blow' to the ankle which forced him off.

"As there was a stop (in play), I decided to make the three substitutions," Diniz told Globo Esporte. "We had a lot of control when they came on. Casemiro asked to come off due to a blow to his ankle."

Casemiro did not train with the rest of the Brazil squad on Saturday, instead staying at the hotel and undergoing physiotherapy for the knock, meaning he is now considered a doubt to feature against Uruguay on Wednesday.

Brazil will train twice more ahead of their clash with Uruguay, with United sure to be keeping a close eye on the injury situation regarding their veteran midfielder.
