Brentford striker Ivan Toney wants a move away from Thomas Frank's side amid links to Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano has written in his Substack column that Ivan Toney is "absolutely ready to leave Brentford" in a potential boost to Chelsea.

The 27-year-old is one centre-forward who the Blues are interested in, with Romano claiming that he could cost up to PS65m.

Toney has not actually played a game for Brentford this season because of a ban he is currently serving, but he was in terrific form last term.

Ivan Toney ready to leave Brentford Toney helped Brentford to win promotion to the Premier League back in 2021. In the 2020/21 Championship season, he managed to find the back of the net on 33 occasions.

Maintaining his goalscoring form in the English top flight, Toney has kept Frank's side in the division.

The former Peterborough man may now feel he has accomplished everything he can in a Brentford shirt, hence his desire to depart the Bees.

Mauricio Pochettino does have Nicolas Jackson, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Villarreal in the summer, and Armando Broja. It will be interesting to see what happens with them if Toney or another No.9 like Victor Osimhen arrives.

The Napoli star has also been linked with a move to Pochettino's side.

At the end of the day, the Argentine's job is to win football matches and not to keep everyone happy. If he thinks Toney can help him to do that, then it is only logical that he considers bringing in the Brentford man.
