Blackburn Rovers attacker Sammie Szmodics has admirers at Sheffield United, according to a report by The Sun. Blackburn Rovers could face a battle to keep hold of the forward this summer with Luton Town and Brentford also keen.

Szmodics, 28, has scored 31 goals in all competitions so far this season, 25 of which have come in the league.

The Sun claim Rovers are seeking a transfer fee in the region between PS15m and PS20m for his signature.

Sheffield United have been relegated from the Premier League and have a big few months ahead as they look to bolster their ranks.

Szmodics would be an eye-catching signing for another club in the Championship but it seems more likely that he will move up to the top flight.

Latest Stories Brentford will be there again in the next campaign, but Luton Town are currently fighting for their lives with Burnley and Nottingham Forest.

Blackburn Rovers aren't under any pressure to cash in on their star man just yet as he is under contract at Ewood Park until June 2026 meaning they can hold out for big money.

Prior to his switch to the North West, he had spells at Colchester United, Bristol City and Peterborough United.

Blackburn Rovers will be wanting the best deal possible for him, if they are to consider selling him, and Sheffield United are the latest team to be linked with a swoop.

John Eustace's side drew 0-0 at home to Coventry City this weekend in a result that nearly secures their status in the second tier. They have an away trip to Leicester City on the final day.
