They are now set to revisit their interest in the Bees star, with the North London club eyeing a cut-price move for the striker, who has just 12 months left on his contract.

It is revealed that the Lilywhites are now ready to test Brentford's resolve by submitting an opening offer of around PS40m for the England international.

According to the update, Spurs are also preparing a package of personal terms to offer for Toney, who is currently preparing for the Euros with Gareth Southgate's squad.

However, the publication adds that the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal have cooled their interest in Toney, with 'a window of opportunity' thus opening for Ange Postecoglou's side to secure the 27-year-old.

While Toney might not be an ideal fit for Postecoglou's system, he does offer something quite different to the options that the Australian currently has at his disposal.

A move for the Brentford striker would make much more sense for Spurs than spending big on relatively unproven talent like Santiago Gimenez or Viktor Gyokeres.
