Source:Home

Brentford B in the second-ever Robert Rowan Invitational put on an impressive display beating Bournemouth Under-21s by six goals to two at the Gtech Community Stadium. Ryan Trevitt (2), Daniel Oyegoke, Mukhammadali Urinboev, Max Dickov and Ethan Laidlaw were the goalscorers in what was a great atmosphere, paying tribute to a fantastic cause. Neil MacFarlane named a strong side for this fixture, Hakon Valdimarsson came into the side, alongside Tristan Crama and Daniel Oyegoke. Romeo Beckham also played from the start.

Brentford B began the game the better of the two sides, and the team had an early sight of goal. Beckham put in a great delivery to find Hay, who failed to connect cleanly despite being unmarked.

The Bees went close again and this time it was through Crama who powered a header from Ethan Brierley's corner just over the bar.

The deserved goal arrived for the Bees and it was captain Oyegoke who shot a left-footed volley on the swivel through the goalkeeper's legs.

The lead did not last long though as with their first effort on goal, Bournemouth found the back of the net. A good cross into the box found Adu-Adjei whose deft touch was enough to find the bottom corner of the net.

Bournemouth were creeping back into the game and the Cherries went close through Kian Tydeman as the wide man almost scored.

The away side took the lead on the stroke of half time and it was Adu-Adjei again who beat the offside trap and converted coolly past Valdimarsson.

Crama had the side from west London's first chance of the second period and with a looping header he just could not find the target.

Trevitt did well to create space for himself shrugging off two challenges, but his finish let him down as he steered his effort straight at the goalkeeper.

The Bees were piling on the pressure and Oyegoke went close to his second, rising highest to head goalwards, drawing an excellent save from the Cherries goalkeeper.

Brentford levelled the scores as second-half substitute Urinboev was first to a loose ball in the box, striking powerfully into the bottom corner.

It was still the young Bees who were in full control of the game and Beckham went close to putting the team ahead but Crisp made a good stop to deny him a goal.

Brentford were back in front in this exciting affair and it was Trevitt who got the goal, driving a shot into the goal from just outside the box.

With three minutes left in the game the Bees were awarded a penalty as Oyegoke was fouled in the box. Trevitt stepped up to take it and dispatched expertly beyond the keeper's reach.

A delightful chip from another substitute Dickov gave us our fifth as he was played through on goal by a Cherries defender. With only the keeper to beat he connected superbly with the ball to lob the goalkeeper.

The B team saved the best till last as Ethan Laidlaw curled a wonderful shot beyond the goalkeeper to find the top corner of the net.
