West Ham are keeping a close eye on Ivan Toney's situation at Brentford, according to reports.

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten alongside his recruitment team are looking to bring a high profile striker through the door this summer. Toney has been on the Hammers radar for quite some time and it appears almost certain that the England international will leave Brentford before the end of the summer transfer window.

It is believed Brentford will be open to offers for Toney this summer, with the striker currently away on international duty representing England at this summer's Euros. Toney has just a year left on his current contract at Brentford, as reported by Football Insider last month, Brentford are aware they will need to drop their asking price for Toney if the England forward is to leave this summer.

After returning from his lengthy ban for breaching the FA's betting rules at the start of the year, Toney scored four goals and provided two assists in 17 appearances for Brentford in the 23/24 season.

Toney gained a lot of admirers after scoring 20 Premier League goals for Brentford in the 22/23 campaign. Although it is certain many clubs will be after Toney this summer and looking to secure his signature, the 28 year old remains a firm option for the Hammers. With the club looking to bring a forward through the door this summer, it is certainly an added benefit that Toney has Premier League experience and is a proven goalscorer in the top flight.

The Hammers have already secured three summer signings so far, wrapping up deals for Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman, and new head coach Julen Lopetegui will be on the hunt for further additions this summer as he looks to improve his squad ready for the 24/25 Premier League season.
