'He must be' - Thomas Frank makes perfect Mohamed Salah point after Liverpool win
Source:Liverpoolecho

Brentford boss Thomas Frank labelled Mohamed Salah as one of the top three players in world football after his double helped Liverpool win 3-0 on Sunday.

Salah scored his 11th and 12th goals of the campaign before Diogo Jota registered as the Reds moved up to second in the Premier League at Anfield.

After the game, Frank was fulsome in his praise of Liverpool's No.11, who has now scored 200 goals in English football, with 198 coming as a Reds player.

RATINGS: Liverpool player ratings as Mohamed Salah and six others superb against Brentford

ANALYSIS: Diogo Jota makes it impossible as Wataru Endo gets what he needed most

"Mo Salah gets praised a lot but I don't know if he gets enough praise," Frank said. "I think now off the top of my head, he is the best player in the Premier League, potentially.

"In terms of goals and assists, what a level. He must be one of the top offensive players in the world. Not like top 10 but top three.

"What he has done and when you have a player of that quality you just know that it is a problem. Also the second goal he cannot avoid to score because we are not doing enough defensively but the first one is a clear signature Liverpool attack. We lose it, counter-attack, bang, into Salah and it is a goal.

"But it is not always a goal for everyone in that situation, that is just the quality of the player and Liverpool's quality. But I am a big believer that if we played this game again we would score at least one goal.

"I think it was a very good football match. Hopefully everyone thought it was an interesting game to play. In so many ways I am pleased with the tea and the performance was good.

"We came to Anfield knowing that of course in spells we need to defend well but I think we were brave, aggressive and I loved the approach from the players. It was an open game in spells and not many teams do that at Anfield because we know how good they are at it.

"I know we lost 3-0 to a very good Liverpool side who played close to their A-game but even with that I think it is because in the big moments we didn't take them."

"The chance for Bryan (Mbeumo), of course, we need to score a chance like that. I think there was a chance for Yoane Wissa but his touch was bad. We need to avoid goals two and three. We normally defend that situation even better. The big moments are why we didn't get anything from a good game. We created the most xG we have at Anfield and conceded the lowest."
