'No way back' - Journalist: Everton player now finished, Dyche does not trust him
Source:Goodisonnews

Paul Brown has claimed Neal Maupay's Everton career is over regardless of whether his loan spell at Brentford is a success as he has lost the trust of Sean Dyche.

The former Express journalist claimed there is no way back for the Frenchman after his struggles in front of goal at Goodison Park as he was unable to find his feet on Merseyside.

Brown also suggested that even if Everton intended on bringing him back into the fold, Maupay would not be keen on a return as he is aware he doesn't fit into Dyche's plans.

Brown was speaking to GIVEMESPORT [12 November] when he shared: "I don't think there's a way back for him at Everton. I don't think Sean Dyche really trusted him as a reliable goal scorer.

"He gave him plenty of chances and they just couldn't get a tune out of him. I don't really think that Maupay is eager to come back in. He knows that he doesn't really fit into this team or system.

"Things didn't go well for him and I'm pretty sure that he'd be happy to make a move elsewhere. So I don't really think he is likely to return."

The best resolution for all parties

After what has to be considered a disastrous year for Maupay at Everton, it would be the best move for both parties for them to part ways on a more permanent basis if that opportunity comes about in the summer.

The Frenchman has already equalled his Everton Premier League goals tally while on loan at Brentford with just the one goal scored last time out.

His one goal and two assists in seven appearances for the West London outfit has bettered the one goal and zero assist total he gained in 27 appearances during his time in blue, and after a return like that, there is no reason Dyche would want him back.

It has become clear that Maupay feels more at home with Brentford than he did at Goodison Park, and any possibility of an emphatic return to the club following his loan spell seems to have been entirely dismissed. A clean break at the end of the season is certainly on the cards.
