Union Berlin are looking to sign another Celtic player in Kyogo Furuhashi with the Japan international also an option to replace Ivan Toney at Premier League outfit Brentford.
Now, even the most rose-tinted of Union Berlin supporters would probably understand if Kyogo Furuhashi opted against reuniting with former Celtic team-mate Josip Juranovic in the German capital.
When Juranovic joined the Bundesliga's perennial overachievers in January, Union Berlin were only a few months away from sealing a top-four spot and a Champions League place. Now bottom of the table after 13 defeats in 14 games, this Cinderella story is turning from a fairytale into a story more suitable in the Brothers Grimm collection.
And, with Toney's contract running down, Kyogo's loyalty could soon be tested despite only recently signing a new, long-term deal at Parkhead.
Celtic reportedly value Kyogo - a PS4 million signing from Vissel Kobe - at around PS20 million. It will come as a relief to learn, via TEAMtalk, that a bonafide living legend is in 'no rush' to follow Virgil van Dijk, Odsonne Edouard Stuart Armstrong and co south of the border.
Brentford's Ivan Toney replacement? "I've normally always had a striker at the top end of the field who's got pace and who's dynamic. And, for me, Kyogo's absolutely perfect," Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers tells STV of the 28-year-old, who announced himself on the Champions League stage recently with a wonderfully-crafted goal against Atletico Madrid.
"His work-rate, his intensity, how he presses the game and his movement is that of a very top striker."
