Report: PL striker’s entourage has just met with Chelsea, January deal could now come much cheaper

Reports have claimed that the entourage of Ivan Toney have been in contact with Chelsea over a potential deal in January.

According to Caught Offside, there is an expectation that Brentford could budge on the reported price tag they have been holding out for in order to let him go.

It is widely expected that Toney is going to be on the move from the Premier League side after he returns from his ban relating to gambling.

This may also come as a result of the seemingly clear need for the Blues to add a centre forward to their ranks in order to continue to progress up the table.

Nicolas Jackson has found the net four times in the last week, in games coming up against Tottenham and Manchester City.

However, there have still been calls for the Blues to strengthen in this area, with Toney one of the two names strongest linked.

Now, it has been reported that there have been conversations between his entourage and the club, as well as with Arsenal as the transfer window approaches.

If the Blues don't make a move for Toney, you can be sure that there will at least be an effort to bring in Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

Club legend John Obi Mikel has already seemingly started his own groundwork to get the transfer done at the end of the season, with him already giving his pitch to the striker to get him to join.

Any transfer fee though is likely to see them need to smash their record again, so soon after doing so for both Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
