Ralf Rangnick in talks to become Harry Kane's next manager at Bayern Munich

Former Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick is in talks over taking the Bayern Munich job, talkSPORT understands.

Thomas Tuchel will leave the Bundesliga giants at the end of the season. Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is also on Bayern Munich's shortlist, but Rangnick is the frontrunner.

The Red Devils finished the season in sixth place with 58 points, the worst points-total record in their Premier League history.

Rangnick was then snapped up by the Austria national team on a two-year deal in April 2022, with his contract beginning in June.

The 65-year-old has also managed RB Leipzig, Schalke, Hoffenheim, Hannover 96 and VfB Stuttgart.

He has also been linked with the soon-to-be vacant Liverpool job.

However, those rumours have petered out in recent weeks, with other favourites for the job emerging.

Next season will mark a huge campaign for Bayern, given they'll be looking to bounce back from losing their first Bundesliga title race since 2012.

That's despite England captain Harry Kane firing in 33 goals and registering 10 assists in the Bundesliga for them.

The former Chelsea manager had led Bayern to the title last term.

Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso had been linked with the Bayern job.

However, just like Liverpool, they went dealt a huge blow when Alonso pledged his loyalty to the side he guided to the title this term.
