Hull City have joined the chase for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Marc Leonard, according to Football Insider. Hull City can still finish in the Championship play-off spots this season.

They need to beat Plymouth Argyle on the final day while West Brom lose to Preston. A draw would bring the two sides level on points, but the Baggies' superior goal difference means they would almost certainly retain 6th.

They'd be wise to have plans for different scenarios, but potential targets can be lined up regardless. Now, a new name has been linked with Hull City as the transfer window moves closer and closer.

According to Football Insider, the Humberside outfit are the latest side to join the chase for promising Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Marc Leonard. The report also mentions Sheffield United as a new admirer.

Plymouth Argyle, Cardiff City and Preston North End have also been consistently linked with Leonard. It has been said that Brighton could sell him for as little as around PS300,000 when the summer comes around.

Latest Stories The interest in the 22-year-old comes amid another impressive loan with Northampton Town. After impressing in League Two with the Cobblers, Leonard chipped in with five goals and six assists in 46 League One games as he managed his latest step up with ease.

A shrewd signing for the Tigers The wide interest in Leonard ahead of the summer means Hull City will likely have a fight on their hands to sign the Brighton starlet if these links are genuine.

However, at PS300,000 the Scottish prospect could be a really smart addition for Rosenior and co.

He's not been tested at Championship level before but given how he managed the step up to League One after playing in the fourth-tier, Leonard looks well-equipped to make another move up the leagues this summer.

One would think such progress out on loan may put him in Brighton's thinking for the future but it looks as though the door may well open for him to move onto pastures new for good after his loans.

That decision may well come back to bite the Seagulls, and Hull City will be hoping to be the beneficiaries of that.

If the door does indeed open for Leonard to move on, it looks as though he'll have plenty of options to choose from with Championship links becoming a regularity in recent months.
