Sheffield United and Hull City have joined the chase to sign Brighton midfielder Marc Leonard, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old has been a stand-out performer on loan at Northampton Town this season and he was rewarded by winning the club's Player of the Season and Player's Player of the Season awards.

Sheffield United and Hull City made regular checks on Leonard before the end of the League One season, where he scored five goals and provided six assists.

Brighton are unlikely to stand in Leonard's way of a move this summer if one of his suitors make an offer in the region of PS300,000. He is out of contract in the summer of 2025.

Sheffield United & Hull City in race to sign Brighton midfielder Both Sheffield United and Hull look set to battle it out for the permanent signature of the Seagulls ace, with the south coast side ready to let the midfielder leave this summer.

The Scotland youth international developed his career at both Rangers and Hearts before his switch to Brighton.

The 22-year-old has two senior Seagulls appearances to his name, but could exit the club permanently in the summer transfer window following his impressive displays on loan at Northampton.

The Blades will be looking for players who can get them back into the Premier League next season after their disappointing top flight campaign.
