Brighton have been handed a fresh boost ahead of their Premier League game against Chelsea with manager Roberto De Zerbi confirming both Danny Welbeck and James Milner have all signed new contracts to stay at the club.

Welbeck has signed a new two-year deal at the club while Milner, who has been injured for most of the season has been given another year to try and end his time on a high next season.

Speaking ahead of the game against Chelsea on Wednesday night, Italian manager De Zerbi said he was delighted the duo had decided to stay at the Amex. He told reporters: "I am delighted for James and Danny, as they both deserve these extensions.

"They have both been very important for the club on and off the pitch and with Adam Lallana leaving us their contribution becomes even more crucial next season."

Chelsea showed incredible character to win an entertaining game against Nottingham Forest over the weekend to boost their chances of finishing in the Europa League. They travel to the Amex looking for three points that could prove season-defining if Newcastle, in sixth place were to drop points.

On the injury front, Chelsea are now looking at having almost a full squad with only long-term absentees, Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana, Robert Sanchez and Carney Chukwuemeka the only ones still out injured.
