Brighton forward Abdallah Sima is not likely to need a medical if he is to join Rangers permanently, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that as he will have been under the care of the Gers physios throughout his setbacks, they will be able to assess his fitness better than a physical examination.

Derek Ferguson has stated that the Ibrox outfit will need to shell out a fee north of PS10million to sign the 22-year-old this summer.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

"Sima has suffered multiple injuries this season and since the turn of the year, his fitness has been far from ideal.

"Even currently, while he's fit, he does not appear to be at 100 per cent and he's probably not going to reach that stage until he's a few weeks into pre-season training.

"There are talks about him joining permanently and while his injury record has been far from ideal, another medical to complete the signing is not on the cards.

"If he's been under the care of the team physios this entire time, it's very unlikely he would undergo another physical."

Rangers may look to drive down the price for Abdallah Sima While PS10million is a fair price for Sima given how well he's performed, his injury record must be taken into consideration.

If Brighton are to sell him, the buying clubs will be aware of how many games he has missed this season.

If they plan to keep him, there are no guarantees that he'd be able to adapt to the intense nature of the Premier League.

Rangers Abdallah Sima has done well for Rangers this past season Thus, Gers could begin negotiations and use that as a way to drive down the asking price.

In other Rangers news, names of seven first-team players have emerged who are mooted to seal their permanent Ibrox exit this summer.
