Stevie Clifford has admitted that he is "confident" Oscar Cortes will still be at Rangers next season and believes they have a "good shot" of signing Abdallah Sima once again.

The 20-year-old winger joined the ranks at Ibrox in the January transfer window on loan from Lens. However, he only made seven appearances and scored once before his campaign was ended prematurely by injury.

Reports have suggested that the Light Blues are pursuing deals to bring both Cortes and Sima back to Glasgow this summer and Clifford believes the Gers have a chance of securing both signatures.

Speaking on The Rangers Review YouTube channel (29 May) he said: "I'm confident that Cortes will stay, 100 per cent confident he will stay.

"I think we've got a real good shot of getting Abdallah Sima, we'll just have to wait and see how that transpires. I know they are talking to Brighton so let's see what happens with that one.

"We might not be able to afford him, or he might fancy another year."

Will Rangers sign Oscar Cortes and Abdallah Sima in the summer transfer window? Rangers won't have loads of money to spend this summer unless players depart Ibrox, but the Light Blues will be desperate to try and strengthen as they look to close the gap to Celtic at the top of the table.

Philippe Clement has already admitted that he wants to complete a mass overhaul of the playing squad as he looks to change the attitude within his side, however, he will likely be keen to keep both Cortes and Sima.

Both players have admitted that they are incredibly happy in Glasgow in the past so getting them to agree on personal terms shouldn't be an issue, however matching Brighton and Lens' valuations could be a sticking point.

Rangers Abdallah Sima Rangers striker Abdallah Sima joined on loan from Brighton Another loan deal may well be the ideal solution as it would allow the Gers to once again try before they buy. If they were able to win the title next season, they would be blessed with Champions League money and be able to splash the cash a bit more.

This could be one to watch in the early stages of the deal as talks have already begun over the two players.
