Former Liverpool and current Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Adam Lallana believes that Manchester United have to make key Erik ten Hag decision.
The noise around Manchester United in the aftermath of last weekend's 2-1 victory in the FA Cup final over Manchester City has been about what to do with under fire manager Erik ten Hag.
With the Red Devils sitting in eighth place, the season has been nothing short of a disaster with a selection of rather poor results, including a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth. As well as this, the club finished bottom of the Champions League group.
The Dutchman has used the injury excuse, which is valid considering the amount of absentees that the Red Devils have had to endure. A decision could well be made this week.
"Why not?" Lallana said when asked if the Dutchman should remain at Old Trafford for another season. "He has won trophies for the last couple of years. Why not?"
The United fanbase seem split about the possibility of the Dutchman remaining for a third season with some believing that the FA Cup final victory over City, who won the Premier League title, should allow the former Ajax boss some time to turn things around.
Whilst others believe that the eighth placed finish in the Premier League, which is the lowest position United have ever finished in the league's 32 year history, is simply not good enough.
Latest on Ten Hag's future HITC have reported that the club are conducting their end of season review into the campaign and a decision will be made on Ten Hag's future this week.
Going into the weekend's clash at Wembley Stadium, HITC also understands that the club's top brass were split on the decision and that victory in London did little to solve that problem.
What is clear, however, is that a decision will be made this week and, no matter what, one side of the fanbase will be unhappy with whatever decision the club make.
