Brighton have confirmed the departures of two long-standing directors as part of a shake-up behind the scenes, sources have told Football Insider.

As per a Companies House submission on Wednesday (26 June), Marc Sugarman has become the second director to leave the Amex Stadium this week following Derek Chapman's exit on Tuesday (25 June).

The duo previously held non-executive director roles at Brighton, where Tony Bloom has been the majority owner and chairman for the past 15 years.

Their departures mark the first boardroom changes for eight years, with Chapman and Sugarman holding their positions on the board since 1999 and 2009.

Chapman, who briefly took on the role of interim CEO in 2012, is regarded as being the key figure behind the Sussex club's successful move to the Amex.

Alongside owner Bloom, Brighton's board is now made up of non-executive directors Ray Bloom, Robert Comer, Adam Franks, Peter Godfrey and Michelle Walder as well as CEO Paul Barber, COO Paul Mullen and finance director Lee Cooper.

Brighton could make substantial profit after Moises Caicedo sale Brighton have achieved enormous success since Bloom acquired Dick Knight's 75 per cent stake in the club in 2009.

The 54-year-old has overseen two promotions during that time, with Premier League football being played at the Amex since they reached the top flight in 2017.

Brighton have become the envy of the league for their extensive work behind the scenes in recruiting relatively unknown talents that have later gone on to be sold for a healthy profit.

The south coast club published their 2022-23 accounts in April, revealing a club-record turnover of PS204.5million and a Premier League record of PS122.8million in profit.

Brighton also received a British-record transfer fee of PS115million for Moises Caicedo's move to Chelsea and that fee will be included in their 2023-24 accounts.
